Monday January 11, 2016 - The one where we simply have a good week

This may have been one of the most average weeks in a while. Nothing
crazy happened. No funny stories.

Monday night Elder Simpkin was feeling really sick so we saw one
investigator then went to Walmart to pick up some ginger ale. We
headed home and I nursed him back to health for the evening. It wasn't
anything spectacular but he was feeling better the next day.

Tuesday we did quite a bit of service. We went to Habitat for Humanity
that morning. We got to change the letters on the sign out front. We
had to use this super long extension pole with a suction cup at the
end. It was pretty fun. After that we went to Stanly Manor, a nursing
home, and helped them take down all their Christmas decorations. They
bought us pizza afterward which was really nice of them.

Wednesday we went on exchange with the other elders in Albemarle. We
had some impromptu service that we did for a member of the ward with all
four of us. They were getting a piano so we went to help them pick it
up and unload it. They also bought us lunch afterwards. It's this new
Vietnamese sub place in town called yo-yo's it's really good.

Thursday we were pretty swamped with a bunch of teaching appointments.
It worked out nice that we didn't have a ton of dinner appointments
this week because it meant we didn't have to worry about taking all the
travel time to and from those places. We need the time for our teaching.

Thursday night we were able to go teaching with the senior couple
missionaries that come to our ward. They actually work in the office
but they come to Albemarle for Sundays. We went to see P, one of our
investigators who is really close with the sister missionary. They sit
together on Sunday's for Sunday school and are great friends. It was a
really great experience. P wants to be baptized and says she will
she is just lacking the commitment to a date and to our church. She is
still pretty tied to hers.

This weekend was uneventful. Just a lot of the usual. Teaching people
and trying to find new people to teach. Church this Sunday was really
good. The talks in sacrament meeting were wonderful. I really wish
there was more to talk about this week. Hopefully more exciting things
will be happening this next week.

Send me pictures, read your scriptures,
Love you!
Elder Galvin
