Monday January 4, 2016 - The one with Lots of Rain and some Flooding

This has been a really good week here in Albemarle!

Last p day we had a really fun time going out to lunch with one of
Elder Simpkins friends from Asheboro. It was a fun time.

This week has marked the beginning of the cold and  wet weather. We
ended up having to get very wet!The other elders told us that they
had plenty of miles to give us and we could go over on ours if we needed to.
Well on January 29th they told us that they actually didn't have any
miles for us and we were on our own. Luckily we had exactly enough
miles to make it to and from our dinner, and to and from our meeting in
Charlotte, but that was it. Unfortunately that meant that we had to
walk everywhere the day of the 30th. That day was when the torrential
downpour was happening and Albemarle was flooding. Luckily my raincoat
works really well but the rest of me was very wet.

It was crazy in albemalre that day. All the rain caused a lot of
flooding so there were a few major intersections that were underwater.
The best thing I saw that day was a video of some people canoeing in a
parking lot of the gym there.

We had two really big meetings in Charlotte this week. They were a lot
of fun and really instructive. After our Zone Meeting in Charolotte we
got to go on exchange with the Zone Leaders. I went with Elder Mautz
to the Reedy Creek ward in Charlotte. We had a really effective
exchange. He is one of my favourite missionaries so I was super
excited to go on exchange with him. We went to this really great pizza
restaurant in uptown Charlotte for dinner. It also marked the first
time since getting to Albemarle that I got to leave Albemarle.

We also were blessed to see six investigators at church this Sunday.
Our progressing investigator N, our other investigator P was there, a
part member family who has some kids and their finances who aren't
members, as well as the mom of a recent convert. The part member
family was so nice to see there since we've been working with them
for a long time and it was only the third time the less active parents
were there and first time for their kid and his fiancé. A great Sunday!

We were busy in Charlotte all day today with a Zone activity so I
haven't got much time to write. Thanks for all the love and prayers.

Send me Pictures, read your scriptures
Love you!
