Monday December 14, 2015 - The one where we break up with Someone...?

This was a pretty good week here in Albemarle. Things were pretty slow
all week and then they picked up on Saturday.

This week was transfers. We lost Elder Valgardson, he went back home
to Utah. The new missionary here in Albemarle is Elder Skinner! He's
spent his whole mission in Kanapolis and got there when I got to
Albemarle. We went out to lunch as the four elders to say goodbye to
elder Valgardson.

We have had a couple interesting experiences this week. There's this YSA in
our ward who has gone on a few dates with another YSA in our ward.
She wanted to break up with him but didn't know what to say so 
Elder Simpkin and I wrote the messages for her to send. I didn't think I'd 
ever have to break up with someone on my mission but I guess we did.

The weather here has been abnormally warm. Every day this week has
been at or around 20 degrees. It's been wonderful. Usually the winters
here are warm but not this warm. Everyone says that it's going to end
up getting cold soon.

This Friday we spent the whole day in Charlotte. We left home at
around 9:30 to get to Kanapolis for our District meeting. We had
interviews with our mission president that afternoon in Charlotte. We
got there on time for our interviews but he was running
behind so it was around 5:30 when we finally got home.

We had our ward Christmas party this week. It was, in typical
Albemarle fashion, a potluck. There was a little program that they put
on where we sang a bunch of Christmas hymns. It was really nice. Elder
Simpkin and I dressed up in our Santa hats and Christmas Spirit vests
to go to the party. Everyone loved it. It was also the primary program
this Sunday at church. The kids did a really nice job and it was super
cute.

Overall this week was pretty average. As far a missionary work goes
there wasn't much happening. We did have a really great Saturday
though. We had been struggling to find and teach people all week but
the Lord rewarded us on Saturday by giving us a bunch of new people
we are excited to work with.
